Superintendent – Steam / Utilities | First Class Power Engineer

Location: Kapuskasing, Ontario
Salary: $135,000–$160,000 CAD per year

INFINITEK is supporting an established industrial manufacturing operation with the appointment of a Superintendent – Steam / Utilities.

This is a senior operational leadership position for a 1st Class Power / Operating Engineer who brings solid experience across steam generation, boilers, turbines and industrial utilities.

The role is particularly well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise, people leadership and operational improvement and who wants to have a meaningful influence on the performance and reliability of a major industrial operation.

The opportunity

As Superintendent – Steam / Utilities, you will lead and support the Steam Plant operation while working closely with senior site leadership and other departments.

You will be responsible for:

- Leading, guiding and developing teams within the Steam Plant operation
- Supporting Steam, Effluent Treatment and Yard functions
- Driving safe, reliable and cost-effective plant operations
- Optimising manufacturing processes from productivity, quality, cost and environmental perspectives
- Overseeing operational plans and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting maintenance, CAPEX and production objectives
- Developing and managing the annual Steam department budget
- Improving equipment and process reliability




- Supporting effective labour/management and employee relations
- Maintaining strong safety and environmental standards
- Providing leadership across operational, productivity, quality and cost initiatives

What we're looking for

You will ideally bring:

- 1st Class Operating Engineer / Power Engineer certification
- TSSA qualification
- 7–10 years' experience in the field or a related industrial environment
- Strong experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting boilers, steam turbines and associated systems
- Proven leadership and team-management capability
- Strong operational and commercial awareness
- Experience with maintenance, CAPEX and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills
- English language proficiency; French is an asset

The position requires someone who can combine strong technical engineering knowledge with the leadership capability to drive people, processes and plant performance.
