Pay: CA$22.00–CA$36.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

1 Overview

We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and safety-minded individuals to join our growing team as URD Labourers / Equipment Operators. This position involves supporting Underground Residential Development (URD) projects, including utility installation, excavation, trenching, backfilling, and general site work.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the utility construction industry. On-the-job training is available for the Labourer position, while experienced equipment operators are encouraged to apply for the higher wage range.

2 Duties & Responsibilities

- Install conduit, cables, transformers, and pedestals for utility services
- Operate excavators, backhoes, and other heavy equipment as required
- Perform trenching, sanding, backfilling, and general excavation work
- Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials on job sites
- Perform general labour, shoveling, and site preparation
- Assist with utility installation and other construction activities
- Conduct daily equipment pre-start inspections and complete checklists
- Grease, clean, and perform basic maintenance on equipment
- Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
- Work closely with crew members and follow directions from site supervisors
- Follow all company safety procedures and job-site requirements
- Perform other duties as required to support URD construction projects

3 Qualifications





Labourer:

- No previous experience required — training will be provided
- Solid work ethic and willingness to learn
- Physically capable of performing outdoor construction and labour tasks
- Valid driver's licence with a clean abstract
- Reliable personal transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Equipment Operator:

- Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavators, preferably in URD construction
- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, or similar heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment maintenance
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean abstract
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

4 What We Offer

- CA$22.00–CA$27.00/hour for Labourers
- CA$26.00–CA$36.00/hour for experienced Equipment Operators
- Overtime pay
