Detailer – Collaborative Projects

Job Description:

The Detailer of Collaborative Projects is to serve as the Lead Detailer on projects, contributing actively to Collaborative Delivery Projects. Collaborative Delivery Projects might include Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Design-Assist, Sub Construction Managers, and others.

This role combines technical detailing expertise with leadership responsibilities, collaborative engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and competency in planning and scheduling. Budgeting abilities would be an asset.

The Detailer of Collaborative Projects will collaborate closely with the Owner, Designer, and Builder partners to translate evolving design models into executable fabrication requirements for the structural and miscellaneous steel scope of work. These deliverables need to align with the Project Conditions of Satisfaction (scope/program, budget, schedule).

Core Responsibilities:

Core Detailing Responsibilities

- Interpret drawings, design sketches,, specifications, and codes to produce accurate
detailing.

- Create and manage 3D models using Tekla Structures for structural and miscellaneous
steel components.

- Collaborate with and internal team of detailers, checkers, engineers, and project
managers to achieve project success.





- Ensure standard procedures are followed and quality standards are upheld.

- Perform other duties as required.

Core Project Responsibilities & Execution

- Understand and execute in alignment with Collins’ policies, processes, and systems.

- Lead and Manage Projects:

- Collaboratively Develop and Lead Project execution in accordance with Project
Documents and Contractual Requirements.

- Maximize project value and margin contribution and mitigate project risks through
collaborative planning.

- Manage the scope of work, budgets, schedule, changes to work, and delays.

- Build, develop, and grow relationships vital to the success of the project.

Collaborative Project Responsibilities

From a high level, develop and drive the completion of all structural steel detailing deliverables. Collaborate and resolve clash detection issues with project stakeholders. Assist in determining best for project design details. Participate in IPD team communications via shared calendars and collaboration platforms (Google Chat, Microsoft Teams).

Validation Phase:
- Participate in team building and onboarding activities
- Stick steel model production
- Pull plan scheduling and establish Base Target Cost
- Participate with IPD team in creating the BIM execution strategy and determine model
sharing strategies

Design/Procurement Phase:
- Attend all Structural PITs and other interdependent PIT sessions to support
coordination and integration.




- Engage actively in virtual meetings when travel is not required, maintaining focused
participation.
- Provide constructability insights during the design phase to optimize details, saving
time and reducing costs.
- Pull plan scheduling and cost forecasting

Construction Phase:
- Attend all Structural PIT sessions
- Contribute to SPRINT Board work planning for construction activities
- Cost forecasting
- Involve engineering support as needed for complex issues
- Attend milestone celebrations and team-building activities to maintain strong
collaboration

Demonstrate effective time management in a quick-paced environment and a willingness to work extra hours when required

Technical & Work Skills

Proficient in Tekla Structures, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Bluebeam

Attention to detail, including precision and accuracy in work

Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with structural steel fabrication and installation practices
Knowledge of welding symbols and procedures
Good command of technical language

Strong English language proficiency (both verbal and written)

Shift Details: This position will involve a combination of office-based work, project-site work at co-located project offices, and may accommodate a work-from-home arrangement depending on project and operational requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
