We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Clerk to support accounting operations in our London office.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently while contributing to the smooth operation of the firm.

This is an in office role and therefore requires you to be within commuting distance to downtown London – (50 km or less).

Key Responsibilities
Billing and Trust Accounting
· Manage the billing cycle, including review, and finalization of client accounts
· Process and monitor disbursements, ensuring proper allocation of hard and soft costs
· Review and process billing adjustments and write-offs in accordance with firm policies
· Maintain and update billing rate structures and client-specific rate arrangements
· Perform and review bank and trust reconciliations
· Assist the Controller with month-end processes and reporting
· Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and account issues
Accounting and AP Functions
· Manage accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing
· Process incoming cheques and electronic deposits accurately and timely
· Reconcile corporate credit card accounts and follow up on outstanding items
· Support accurate recording and reconciliation of general financial transactions
Must Have Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a legal accounting role within a law firm
· Certificate or diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration
· Proven ability to manage billing cycles independently
· Hands-on experience with trust accounting and bank reconciliations
· Experience handling disbursements, write-offs, and billing adjustments
· Experience with accounts payable and general accounting functions
· Proficiency in legal accounting software (e.g., Elite, ProLaw or similar)
· High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability
· Solid organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
· Team player, self-starter with a positive attitude
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Nice to Have
· Experience in a regional or mid-size litigation firm
· Exposure to month-end and year-end accounting processes
· Advanced proficiency in Excel for reconciliations and reporting
· Experience contributing to process improvements or internal controls
· Familiarity with Law Society trust compliance requirements
