HVAC Technician / Class A Gas Fitter — Raven Supply

Location: Richmond, BC (servicing commercial and industrial clients across Metro Vancouver)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: $36-$48/HR, depending on experience and certification level

About Raven Supply

Founded in 2003, Raven Supply is now in its second generation of ownership and is proudly female and Indigenous owned. Raven operates as a technical partner, not a transactional supplier, providing low-carbon heating solutions for commercial and industrial projects across BC and Yukon.

At Raven Supply, our culture is built on trust, initiative, and a shared drive to deliver excellence. Our core values guide how we work every day, with every customer: we do as we say, we are responsive, we stay curious, we are easy to work with, and we take initiative.

What Makes Raven Unique

Raven Supply operates in a technical, customer-focused industry where responsiveness, accuracy, and follow-through matter. Our products and solutions support critical operations, and our customers rely on us to provide practical guidance, strong communication, and dependable execution.

What we do that sets us apart:

- Our response times matter. Customers often come to us when equipment is down or critical decisions need to be made quickly. Speed, urgency, and transparent communication are essential.
- Our products support critical operations. Many of the facilities and systems we support operate 24/7. Customers depend on us to understand the importance of downtime, reliability, and getting things right the first time.
- We deliver complete solutions, not just products. Success often requires coordination between customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams.
- Ownership is expected. We trust our team to solve problems, make informed decisions, and follow through on commitments.

About the Role

Raven Supply is looking for an experienced HVAC Technician holding a Class A Gas Fitter certification to service, repair, and commission commercial and industrial heating systems throughout Metro Vancouver.

This role is focused on complex, high-stakes work: diagnosing and repairing equipment on commercial and industrial sites,

commissioning new low-carbon heating installations, and ensuring systems are running safely and reliably for clients whose operations depend on them. You'll work independently in the field while staying connected to the broader Raven team for coordination and support.

What You'll Own

Service & Repair — Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and gas-fired heating systems, minimizing downtime for clients with critical operations.

Commissioning — Commission new low-carbon heating equipment and systems, verifying performance against manufacturer specifications and code requirements.

Code Compliance & Safety — Perform all work in accordance with the BC Gas Safety Regulation, Technical Safety BC requirements, and manufacturer specifications, holding valid Class A Gas Fitter certification at all times.

Documentation — Complete accurate service reports, commissioning records, and safety documentation for every job.

Customer Interaction — Serve as a knowledgeable, professional point of contact on-site, explaining findings and recommendations clearly to facility managers and technical staff.

Coordination — Work with the project coordination and sales teams to flag recurring issues, upsell opportunities, and scheduling needs.

On-Call Support — Respond to occasional after-hours or emergency service calls as needed to support clients with critical, always-on operations.

Travel — Travel occasionally across BC and Yukon to support clients and projects outside Metro Vancouver. Mandatory manufacturer training across North America. Must be able to travel to the US.

What We're Looking For

- Class A Gas Fitter certification (required) — valid and in good standing with Technical Safety BC.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial and/or industrial HVAC and gas heating systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across a range of commercial-grade equipment.

- Working knowledge of low-carbon heating technologies (heat pumps, hybrid systems, boilers) is an asset.
- Comfortable working independently and making sound judgment calls in the field.
- Strong communication skills — able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to participate in occasional on-call/emergency coverage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across BC and Yukon, and to attend mandatory manufacturer training as required.

Compensation and Benefits

- Profit Sharing Program.
- Comprehensive Health & Dental Plan.

- Company vehicle and tools provided for service calls.
- Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use, where applicable.
- Company-provided phone and plan.
- Paid time off, including sick days and holidays.
- Mandatory manufacturer training at facilities across North America, fully paid for by Raven Supply.
- Support for professional development, certifications, and continued industry learning.
- Supportive, close-knit team environment with company events and team-building activities.

- Raven Giving Fund ($250 annually directed to a non-profit of your choice)
- Support for Room to Read and other charitable initiatives
