We are looking for a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Office Assistant to join our team!

This is a flexible hybrid position where you will work as part of both our Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Office Assistant teams. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and genuinely loves working with both animals and people.

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities

You’ll work closely with our veterinarians and veterinary technologists to support patient care and the daily veterinary workflow.

Your duties may include:

- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technologists with safe patient handling and restraint for outpatient procedures
- Assisting with the care and monitoring of hospitalized patients
- Assisting with patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia
- Helping admit patients for surgery and hospitalization
- Assisting veterinary technologists with taking radiographs
- Assisting veterinarians and the veterinary team during examinations and procedures
- Supporting patient flow and helping the veterinary team stay organized throughout the day
- Communicating with clients and directing questions or concerns to the appropriate veterinarian or team member
- Providing clients with basic post-visit care instructions and directing medical questions to the appropriate member of the veterinary team
- Maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas
- General cleaning and organizational tasks

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, including dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, turtles, snakes, and other exotic pets.

Veterinary Office Assistant Responsibilities





When scheduled as a Veterinary Office Assistant, you’ll help keep the front office running smoothly while providing an excellent experience for our clients and their pets. You'll also have the opportunity to be trained and scheduled as an Exam room Assistant where you will work one-on-one with the Veterinarian assisting in the exam room with restraint or assisting with x-rays.

Responsibilities may include:

- Greeting clients and their pets with a warm and welcoming attitude
- Answering phones and responding to client inquiries
- Scheduling and coordinating appointments
- Managing patient check-ins and check-outs
- Processing invoices and payments
- Providing clients with information about services, pricing, and general clinic policies
- Assisting with emails, filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks
- Helping coordinate appointments and maintain an efficient daily schedule
- Supporting client communication and helping ensure information is passed accurately between clients and the veterinary team
- Providing clients with general preventative-care information and directing medical questions to the appropriate veterinarian or team member
- Keeping the reception and waiting areas clean, organized, and welcoming
- Working as the bridge between our clients and the veterinary team

The ideal candidate will have:

- At least 2 years of veterinary hospital experience
- At least 2 years of Veterinary Office Assistant/reception experience preferred
- At least 3 years of customer service experience
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent client service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

- A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine love and compassion for animals
- The ability to remain calm, skilled, and compassionate during busy or challenging situations

*Work Schedule*

We are currently hiring for 5 days per week / approximately 40 hours per week.

- 8-hour shifts
- Availability to work at least 1 Saturday per month as part of our weekend rotation
