Finance Transformation Consultant (Contract)

Broker-Dealer / Capital Markets Client | In office 4 Days/Week — Downtown Toronto (Financial District)

About the Role

Our client, a broker-dealer, is separating two business lines into two distinct legal entities and needs a Finance Transformation Consultant to support the financial side of this separation. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role — you'll be designing and building out general ledger structures and related reporting frameworks as part of a major transformation initiative, working closely with Finance, Risk, and IT.

What You'll Do

- Design general ledger structure, chart of accounts, GL account mapping, and hierarchies for the newly separated entity
- Build out segment reporting structures, and manage intercompany/inter-segment elimination and cost allocation methodologies
- Support financial, management, and regulatory reporting outputs through the transformation
- Coordinate finance transformation work across Finance, Risk, and IT stakeholders
- Own account reconciliation and dispute resolution processes, including opening balance sheet reconciliation support




- Document audit-ready implementation evidence packages, revised process/controls documentation, and reporting updates

What We're Looking For

- 3–6 years of experience in financial services/capital markets — broker-dealer, bank, or wealth management platform migration/transformation background required
- Strong core domain knowledge across GL design, segment reporting, and elimination/cost allocation methodologies
- Ability to work with moderate oversight — manage workstream SME interactions directly and produce deliverable-ready documentation with only light review
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Comfortable owning execution-level deliverables independently, not just advising

Nice-to-Haves

- CPA or equivalent accounting designation
- Prior consulting/advisory experience
- Data literacy for GL data flows

Contract Details

- Length: 3 months — start ASAP, end date November 30, 2026, with possible extension
- On-site: 4 days per week — non-negotiable, Downtown Toronto Financial District
