About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated full-time, live-in Caregiver / Support Companion to assist a vibrant young adult female with a developmental delay. Your primary mission is to provide one-to-one assistance, helping her live a full, active, and independent life.

This is a collaborative role guided by personalized goals developed alongside the client and our family. As a live-in team member, you will balance medical and personal care with active community integration, academic coaching, and companionship.

Key Job Duties:

· Life Skills & Coaching: Encourage independent living, support on-going post-secondary studies, and help with homework organization and scheduling.

· Community & Social Connection: Assist the client in identifying and joining local recreational clubs, volunteer opportunities, and fitness classes. Facilitate friendships with like-minded peers and model healthy relationship boundaries.

· Medical & Personal Care: Provide dressing, hygiene, and washroom assistance.



Handle meal preparation alongside G-Tube feeding and daily maintenance of feeding equipment.

· Mental Health & Wellness: Implement positive strategies to help the client manage daily stress and anxiety.

· Transportation: Provide reliable client transportation using your own vehicle.

· Household Support: Complete light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and bedding.

· Communication: Work collaboratively with the family, existing network, and support professionals to share progress and promptly address any issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities (Required).

· Core Values: A strong commitment to social inclusion, empathy, and advocacy for individuals with special needs.

· Skills: Highly organized, excellent critical thinking/problem-solving abilities, and a patient, calm, and flexible demeanor.

· Transportation: A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (Required).

· Certifications: Current First Aid / CPR Certification (Preferred).

· Communication: Strong spoken and listening skills; highly reliable and punctual.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
