EXPERIENCED VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSISTANT WANTED

WestVets is looking for an experienced Veterinary Medical Assistant to join our team. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals, takes pride in their work, and understands that being a great VA is about a lot more than cuddling puppies.

What you’ll be doing:

- Patient care: Assist with handling, restraint, treatments, patient comfort, and keeping an eye on the little things that matter.
- Be the extra set of hands: Support the RVTs and DVMs during appointments, procedures, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry.
- Keep things moving: Help with patient flow, cleaning, stocking, laundry, setup, and the behind-the-scenes jobs that keep a veterinary hospital running.
- Surgery support: Prepare surgical areas and supplies, assist with patient preparation, and help with cleaning and turnover.
- Diagnostics: Assist with sample collection and handling, prepare diagnostic submissions, and get equipment and supplies ready.
- Client support: Help clients feel welcome, answer questions within your scope, and make sure patients and their people are treated with kindness and respect.
- Stay one step ahead: Notice what needs doing and take initiative without always waiting to be asked.
- Be a team player: Jump in when things get busy, help your coworkers, communicate clearly, and ask, “What can I do to help?”

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Medical Assistant who is reliable, hardworking, organized, and genuinely enjoys veterinary medicine. You have a solid understanding of veterinary hospital workflow and are comfortable with animal handling,



patient care, cleaning and sterilization, surgical support, diagnostics, and assisting the veterinary team. You can work independently, take direction when needed, recognize what needs to happen next, and prioritize when the day gets busy. You’re confident in what you know, but you’re also willing to learn, ask questions, and continue developing your skills. Most importantly, you care about doing a great job; for the patients, the clients, and the people you work alongside.
