Great Lakes Scenic Studios is currently hiring scenic carpenters to join our talented crew! We are seeking carpenters with at least 2 years of experience in theatrical carpentry, scenic fabrication, or exhibit fabrication. Experience in millwork and finish carpentry is a strong asset.

Great Lakes Scenic Studios is a one-stop fabrication shop. We specialize in theatrical sets, retail displays, trade shows, public art pieces, and so much more. Key Responsibilities:

- Carpentry & Fabrication: Construct and assemble scenic elements, sets, and displays according to design specifications, blueprints, models, and sketches using various techniques and materials.
- Blueprint & Technical Reading: Read and interpret construction drawings, models, sketches, and specifications to execute builds accurately.
- Material Management: Complete material take-offs and efficiently place orders for project materials.
- Precision & Quality Control: Maintain precise tolerances and rigorous quality standards to ensure work is consistently accurate on both standard and unique components.
- Safety & Equipment Maintenance: Uphold safe work practices, adhere to safety protocols, maintain shop equipment,



and keep workspaces clean and organized.
- Problem Solving & Collaboration: Resolve technical and construction challenges during fabrication and installation while working effectively independently, as part of a team, and on site.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in theatrical, scenic, or exhibit carpentry.
- Ability to read and speak English and take direction effectively.
- Ability to handle material and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physically demanding role requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting in an indoor industrial fabrication facility (PPE and hearing protection required).
- Aerial lift certification and Fall Protection training are assets (training will be provided if certifications are not current).

Pay: $26.56-$33.92 per hour
