Objectives:

To provide specialized technical support to the integrated project team through the expert handling, deployment, and maintenance of Casing Running Tools (CRT) and other drilling, completions & workover downhole equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of field operations, with a focus on optimizing tool performance, minimizing non-productive time (NPT), and maintaining rigorous quality and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

Operational Support & Execution

- Prepare, inspect, operate, and maintain CRT/downhole tools to meet project specifications.
- Execute tool services during operations strictly in accordance with design requirements and established procedures.
- Assist in on-site operations, specifically for CRT running, downhole tools implementation and drilling efficiency improvement services.
- Coordinate logistics plans to ensure the timely availability and mobilization of required tools.

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

- Analyze the root causes of tool malfunctions during operations, propose effective solutions, and submit prompt reports.
- Track tool performance and quality, providing recommendations for optimization and design improvements.




- Assist in the introduction and implementation of new technologies and processes aimed at quality improvement and operational efficiency, tracking and summarizing results.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure the timely availability, mobilization, and demobilization of all required CRT/downhole tool assets to the rig site.

Maintenance & Quality Assurance

- Oversee maintenance and repair activities within the tool workshop to ensure all tools are functioning properly and meet construction requirements.
- Participate in developing Job Safety Analyses (JSA), operational risk assessments, and emergency response plans; ensure all tools are handled with adherence to HSE and quality control standards.

Documentation & Communication

- Write detailed daily operation reports and provide timely feedback on field conditions to the project team.
- Maintain transparent and continuous communication with rig crews, supervisors, and third-party service providers to ensure alignment on operational sequences and tool requirements.

Training & Compliance

- Participate in required technical and safety training (e.g., First Aid, H2S Alive, Defensive Driving) and complete all certifications.
- Mentor and train junior team members on correct tool assembly, operation,



and maintenance procedures.
- Strictly adhere to all relevant regulations, design specifications, and operating procedures.

Key Performance Indicators

- Tool run reliability and operational efficiency (e.g., on-bottom run time vs. total run time).
- Adherence to safety protocols and zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).
- Accuracy and timeliness of documentation and reporting.
- Successful execution of tool services according to project schedule.
- Performance improvement through design/process feedback.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 year of experience with CRT and/or down hole tools.
- In-depth knowledge of downhole tool mechanisms, BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) design, and failure analysis.
- Ability to strictly implement operations according to designs and procedures under general guidance.
- Proficient in computer applications for reporting and incident analysis.
- Strong capability to follow project assignments and work within a team.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

- Experience assisting with on-site casing directional milling operations.
- Ability to assist in preparing operational risk analyses, emergency plans, and completion reports.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with field personnel and project teams.
- Previous oilfield service experience in Canada is strongly preferred.
- Experience in the maintenance and inspection of various brands of downhole tools.
- Capable of training others in tool operation and maintenance.
