Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Articling Student to join our legal team. This paid internship provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring lawyers to gain practical experience, develop their legal skills, and understand the day-to-day operations of a professional law practice. The role offers exposure to various areas of law, mentorship from experienced attorneys, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to client cases and legal research.
What You'll Work On
- Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, transactions, and corporate-commercial contracts
- Assisting with mortgage enforcement, and power of sale including drafting pleadings, motion records, and correspondence with opposing counsel
- Supporting Superior Court litigation from intake through settlement or trial
- Conducting legal research on issues spanning real estate, condominium law, and general commercial law
- Attending client meetings, mediations, and court appearances alongside supervising lawyers
What We're Looking For
- A law degree (JD or equivalent) from an accredited Canadian law school,
or NCA certification, completed or in progress
- Robust legal research and writing skills, with attention to detail
- Genuine interest in developing both transactional and litigation skills — you don't need to have picked a lane yet
- Comfortable working directly with clients and managing competing deadlines
- Good judgment about when to ask questions and when to run with a task
What We Offer
- Direct mentorship from lawyers who practice across litigation, real estate, franchising, and corporate-commercial law
- Real file responsibility from early in the term, not just document review
- A collegial, fast-paced environment where your work is visible and valued
How to Apply
Please include a cover letter, resume, and law school transcript.
We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Pay: From $620.00 per week
