About the Team
The Strategy Team reports to the Director of Human Resources and Strategy. The team is responsible for collaborating with ECI Leadership to develop strategic initiatives and plans to improve the business operations and performance of the organizations. They translate the high-level goals set by leadership into concrete ideas with actionable plans that will be carried out by the respective teams at ECI. Following implementation, they develop a set of KPIs that can be measured to ensure that plans are performing as expected and if not, work with the project stakeholders to implement changes. The team also develops processes and documentation for business processes which will be adopted by the respective departments. Members of the team are resourceful, collaborative and comfortable operating with the unknown. They work with all parts of the business on new projects which leads to plenty of learning and development opportunities.
About the Role
We are seeking a sharp and resourceful candidate to support our Strategy Department as an Operations and Strategic Initiatives Specialist.
The role is responsible for supporting process improvement activities and special projects identified by management. The role will support the entire life cycle of the proposed projects and improvements. First, the Specialist must research and meet with stakeholders to identify the current issues and critical factors of the process. Then, they must establish a detailed plan that highlights the problem, proposed solution, implementation strategy, KPIs and follow up evaluation strategy. Once the plan is complete and approved by Management, the Specialist must work with the stakeholders to ensure the plan is carried out, and the necessary changes are implemented in a repeatable manger. Following the conclusion of the implementation and handoff to the respective teams, the Specialist must confirm the project KPIs and monitor the project’s ongoing success. The types of projects will vary and there will plenty of variety in the subject matter. The Specialist may also support Strategic Initiatives and work with the Director of HR and Strategy to plan and complete them. In this role you will have the opportunity to be involved in many different projects and learn many new things, so an ideal candidate is collaborative and naturally curious. Previous Strategy, Operations or Consulting experience is ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross functional discovery sessions to identify issues, their causes and the concerns of the stakeholders involved in the process.
- Research best practices on how to resolve the identified issue and evaluate whether the application of those strategies is feasible in our organization.
- Development process improvement plans that highlight all your earlier findings, the proposed plan to fix the solution,
implementation strategy and KPIs to track its success.
- Work with stakeholders to implement the plan and ensure the respective teams have the necessary resources to complete plan, if not, work with management to identify the gaps and potential solutions.
- Upon conclusion of the complementation, work with the stakeholders to handoff responsibility for the new process or improvement to the respective team/employees.
- Track and measure KPIs to ensure that project implementation is working and that we can measure success in alignment with corporate goals.
- Support Strategic Initiatives through research, proposal development, reports and data analysis.
- Work with management to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure Continuous Improvement activities are constantly progressing.
- Create documentation and procedures for existing and new processes to be added to our document repository.
- Other operations and strategy activities as needed.
About You
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business, Operations, or related field
- Native English proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience in Operations, Strategy, Consulting or related roles
- Working knowledge of lean, Six-Sigma or project management frameworks
- Previous experience writing process documentation and project proposals
- Ability to multi-task and manage different deliverables simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP programs
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with different levels of staff and visitors
- Excellent initiative, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a group
- Comfortability with fast paced and deadline driven work workplace
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 – $85,000 per year.
