HVAC Technician / G2 Gas Technician

Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA) – Various Construction Sites
Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full time

Job Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced HVAC Technician / G2 Gas Technician to work at various residential construction sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with the installation, servicing, inspection and commissioning of residential gas-fired equipment. This position involves travelling to construction sites, completing pre-final inspections, commissioning gas appliances and submitting digital reports for completed work.

A valid TSSA G2 Gas Technician Certificate is required for this position.

Responsibilities

- Travel to various residential construction sites throughout the GTA

- Perform pre-final inspections of mechanical and HVAC equipment

- Commission and initialize gas-fired appliances in newly constructed homes

- Follow manufacturer specifications and required start-up procedures

- Inspect installations and identify deficiencies or potential issues

- Work with furnaces, fireplaces, water heaters, combi boilers and tankless water heaters

- Review and inspect gas piping systems

- Complete digital inspection and commissioning reports

- Take and upload photos documenting completed inspections and work

- Prepare completion documentation for finished lots

- Submit completed paperwork/reports to the site administrator or construction trailer

- Ensure all work complies with applicable gas codes,



manufacturer requirements and safety standards

- Communicate professionally with site personnel, builders and customers

Qualifications

- Valid TSSA G2 Gas Technician Certificate – REQUIRED

- Approximately 5–10 years of experience installing and initializing:

- Furnaces

- Fireplaces

- Water heaters

- Combi boilers

- Tankless water heaters

- Minimum 1 year of experience with gas piping systems

- Approximately 2–5 years of HVAC/gas service experience

- Inspection experience is considered an asset

- Strong knowledge of the CSA B149 Gas Code and applicable requirements

- Ability to read and interpret manufacturer installation and operating instructions

- Comfortable using digital/web-based applications for reporting

- Comfortable using industry testing, diagnostic and monitoring equipment

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Strong customer service skills

- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract

- Must have reliable transportation to the company shop

- Able and willing to travel to job sites throughout the GTA

Compensation & Benefits

- $25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
