Our mission is to enhance and develop appropriate resources and support for the Alexander First Nation members/residents by improving the quality of life through the promotion of independency and family unity.

Summary

Mamawatoskewin (Community Prevention) is a program administered under the supervision of Alexander Social Development. The purpose is aimed at improving the safety and holistic well-being of Alexander First Nation. This program focus’ on family violence prevention and community-based supports, ensuring services are culturally relevant and responsive to local needs. Mamawatoskewin is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic member to join our Community Connections program.

Core Responsibilities:

· Conduct a needs assessment to identify client requirements and refer to appropriate programs (healthcare, financial assistance, childcare, employment or social services)

· Develop individualized service plans, implement goals and monitor progress

· Build relationships with local organizations and enhance access to resources

· Maintain accurate records including progress reports, notes and service plans

· Must possess the skills to engage with clientele





· Must demonstrate organizational skills for managing multiple clients & time management

· Must possess leadership skills

Required skills and qualifications:

· Certificate/ diploma in related field and/or extensive experience

· Proficient in Microsoft office products

· Experience working with high-risk youth

· Must have the ability to work independently

· Strong de-escalation skills

· Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others

· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

· Exhibit professional behavior

· Must have class 5 driver’s license & reliable vehicle

· Must produce a clear driver abstract, criminal record and child intervention check
