Position Summary
The Manager, Culinary Experience leads the Food Service Department to ensure high-quality
food service, menu planning, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional dining experience for
residents.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Food Service Supervision/Nutrition Management program or
Food & Beverage Management.
- Current Safe Food Handlers certificate.
- Eligible for membership in the Ontario Society of Nutrition Management (OSNM).
- Experience in a healthcare/hospitality setting and quantity food preparation (asset).
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft, Yardi and ClickUp.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and geriatric nutrition standards.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety, and Public Health
Inspections.
- Demonstrated experience managing a budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish,
implement and enforce Food Service Department policies and procedures.
- Plan, organize, direct and supervise Food Service Department activities to ensure high quality service.
- Plan menus (regular, therapeutic, alternate) based on Canada’s Food Guide, resident
population, and seasonal events.
- Purchase and receive supplies for daily meal preparation, nourishments, and special events.
- Develop and ensure use of standardized recipes; oversee meal preparation and supervise
meal service.
- Hire, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate Food Service employees; monitor workflow
and performance.
- Interview current residents for dietary restrictions/allergies/preferences and document
appropriately.
- Ensure sanitation regulations for food premises are followed.
- Coordinate Dietary services with other departments.
- Participate in budget preparation and manage department payroll tasks.
- Attend Residents’ Council meetings as requested and provide follow-up reports.
- Maintain accurate nutritional care records and ensure Public Health reports are
communicated and acted upon.
- Follow Levante communication rhythms and collaborate effectively with peers and frontline
team members.
Physical Demands
- Standing for extended periods (up to 10 hours/day)
in kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Walking short distances and maneuvering in tight kitchen spaces.
- Pushing/pulling/lifting items (e.g., dish racks, carts, bulk food) up to 50 lbs.
- Reaching/lifting up to 10 lbs to upper shelving (may use step ladder).
- Repetitive arm motions during preparation tasks; exposure to warm temperatures.
- Some seated desk work for computer/typing tasks.
Risk Management & General Safety
- Partners with community team to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety
requirements and Risk Management programs.
- Practices safety procedures including PPE, fire safety procedures, SDS, and lockout/tagout as
applicable.
- Reports all accidents/incidents immediately.
- Reports unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
- Complies with infection control techniques and biohazard disposal/removal procedures.
- Participates in Fire Safety and Mock Disaster procedures.
Other
- Perform other job duties as assigned and refer/adhere to policies and procedures in effect.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
