Duties

Assist lead carpenters with a wide range of construction activities, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using hand tools and power tools. Support the installation of cabinetry, drywall, flooring, siding, roofing, and tile work while ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications. Help with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry tasks, and scaffolding setup for various site needs. Contribute to the assembly and installation of plumbing and electrical components under supervision. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately interpret project requirements. Perform heavy lifting and material handling safely to maintain workflow efficiency.



Maintain a clean and organized worksite by properly storing tools and materials while following safety protocols at all times.

Skills

Strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution. Experience with concrete forming, masonry, rebar installation, and drywall installation is highly desirable. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment is essential. Knowledge of flooring installation, tile laying, siding application, roofing techniques, and caulking enhances versatility on site. Familiarity with construction estimating processes helps support project planning. Handyman experience or general woodworking skills contribute to versatile task handling. Basic plumbing and electrical experience are advantageous for supporting various trades within construction projects. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding environments is required. Prior construction experience combined with strong teamwork skills will set you up for success in this energetic role. Understanding and ability to utilize technology and software programs like excel an asset.
