Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Placer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in concrete placing a/o finishing and the ability to work effectively in various construction environments. This role involves preparing and finishing concrete surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. The Concrete Placer / Finisher will collaborate with other tradespeople and contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for concrete pouring by cleaning, leveling, and setting forms.
- Pour, and spread concrete according to specifications.
- Finish surfaces using hand tools and power tools to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Restore and repair existing concrete structures as needed.
- Install concrete features such as slabs on grade, suspended slabs, flatwork (sidewalks, driveways etc.)
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other trades to ensure seamless integration of concrete work.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with concrete installation and finishing.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools.
- Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques and practices.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively.
- Familiarity with power trowels, ride-ons, vibe strikes etc.
- Capability to build forms for pouring concrete accurately.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions.
