Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing auditing of occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OHSA, WSIA, Human Rights legislation, and company standards.
- Provide leadership to the Joint Health & Safety Committee, including coordinating monthly meetings, facilitating workplace and plant inspections, documenting findings, and ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training and orientations, including WHMIS, material handling, mobile equipment, safe work practices, and other site-specific requirements.
- Lead workplace incident investigations, post-incident reviews, and root-cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and Early & Safe Return-to-Work programs, working with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and relevant regulatory agencies as required.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization by providing guidance to employees and management, identifying hazards, and ensuring safe operating practices are consistently followed.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

- Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes across plant operations, ensuring established standards and procedures are consistently followed.
- Develop, maintain, and control work instructions, visual work aids, inspection documentation, quality procedures, and other operational documentation.
- Manage document control processes and coordinate tool and equipment calibration schedules to support quality, compliance, and operational accuracy.
- Lead, coach, and mentor QA Inspectors, ensuring effective inspection practices, accurate reporting,



and timely identification and escalation of quality issues.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics and defect trends to identify recurring issues, drive root-cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to investigate and resolve non-conformances, quality concerns, and potential quality spills.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across safety, quality, and plant processes, using data and root-cause analysis to improve performance and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is required.
- Valid OHS certification is preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive health and safety experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with exposure to quality assurance/control.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable provincial and/or federal legislation, including OHSA, WSIA, and Human Rights legislation, with familiarity with ISO standards considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting/data analysis tools such as Power BI.
- Ability to interpret mechanical or architectural drawings is considered a solid asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee and workplace matters.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with employees, supervisors, management, suppliers, and customers.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including extended periods of standing and sitting, wearing required floor PPE, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
