Program Description

The Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Hub provides youth ages 12–25 with access to comprehensive, youth-friendly wellness supports that promote physical, mental, emotional, social, and cultural well-being. Through a holistic and strengths-based approach, the program empowers young people to build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen connections, and achieve their personal wellness goals.

The IYS Program encompasses the overall health and well-being of youth by addressing the factors that influence their ability to thrive, including relationships, education, employment, housing, culture, recreation, and community belonging.

Services are designed to be accessible, inclusive, culturally protected, trauma-informed, and responsive to the diverse needs of youth and their families.

Position Summary

The Clinical Lead provides clinical leadership, oversight, and coordination for Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Hub programs serving youth aged 12-25. The role promotes excellence in youth-centred, trauma-informed, culturally safe, and evidence-informed practice while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, recovery-oriented care, and family inclusion.

Working within an interdisciplinary and integrated service model, the Clinical Lead provides supervision, mentorship, consultation, and support to staff, students, interns, and community partners. The position ensures the effective delivery, coordination, and evaluation of clinical and allied health services, supports quality improvement initiatives, and advances integrated pathways between mental health, substance use, primary care, education, housing, employment, and community services.

The Clinical Lead serves as a key resource for complex clinical situations, risk management, program development, service integration, and systems planning. They collaborate with youth, families, service providers, community organizations, and provincial IYS networks to ensure accessible, responsive, and coordinated care that improves youth wellness outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership and Supervision

- Provide clinical leadership, consultation, coaching, and mentorship to interdisciplinary staff, students, interns, and service partners.
- Promote evidence-informed, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented practices.
- Support clinical decision-making, case formulation,



treatment planning, and service delivery.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary case reviews, care planning meetings, and reflective practice.
- Identify staff learning needs and coordinate orientation, education, and professional development opportunities.

Service Delivery, Integration, and Coordination

- Oversee and support integrated clinical and non-clinical service pathways within the Hub.
- Promote seamless access to mental health, substance use, primary care, peer support, housing, education, employment, recreation, and social services.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, allied health professionals, and community providers to develop coordinated care plans.
- Support navigation, referral pathways, and continuity of care across sectors and transitions.
- Monitor workflow, service utilization, and caseload distribution as appropriate.

Youth and Family-Centred Practice

- Champion meaningful youth engagement and family-inclusive approaches in service planning and delivery.
- Ensure youth voices and lived experiences inform clinical and program decisions.
- Promote equitable access to services for diverse, underserved, and vulnerable populations.
- Support individualized care plans that reflect youth strengths, goals, culture, and community context.

Complex Case Consultation and Risk Management

- Provide consultation and leadership for high-risk, complex, or crisis situations.
- Support staff in assessment, intervention, safety planning, and risk management processes.
- Participate in clinical debriefings, incident reviews, and interdisciplinary discussions.
- Ensure adherence to ethical, legal, regulatory, and professional standards of practice.

Program Development, Quality Improvement, and Evaluation

- Participate in strategic planning, program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop and monitor clinical policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Collect, analyze, and utilize data, outcomes, feedback, and service trends to improve programs.
- Support quality assurance, research initiatives, and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.

Community Engagement and Systems Leadership

- Build and maintain team-oriented relationships with community agencies, partners, and stakeholders.
- Participate in committees, communities of practice, regional networks,



and provincial IYS initiatives.
- Advocate for youth-focused, integrated systems of care.
- Promote collaboration and coordinated service planning across sectors and communities.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, or a related health or human services discipline.
- Current registration and good standing with an applicable professional regulatory body, where required.
- Additional training in youth mental health, substance use, trauma-informed practice, leadership, or clinical supervision is considered an asset.

Experience

- 5 years of progressive clinical experience working with youth and young adults, preferably within integrated or community-based care settings.
- Experience providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and leadership.
- Experience working within interdisciplinary teams and collaborative service models.
- Experience in program development, quality improvement, stakeholder engagement, and systems coordination.
- Crisis intervention, risk assessment, and primary care experience are considered assets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Strong knowledge of youth development, mental health, substance use, recovery-oriented care, and integrated service models.
- Expertise in trauma-informed, culturally safe, anti-oppressive, and youth-centred practice.
- Strong clinical assessment, therapeutic, case management, and care-planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support staff through coaching, supervision, consultation, and performance development.
- Knowledge of provincial legislation, privacy requirements, professional ethics, and documentation standards.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and consensus-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in complex and multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong analytical, evaluation, and quality improvement skills.

Working Conditions

· Full-time position (typically 37.5 hours per week).

· Combination of clinical, supervisory, administrative, and community-based responsibilities.

· Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
