Position Overview:

Technicians are key production personnel who assist in the proper setting up of equipment, assist machine operators, and processes in their department. They are required to attain maximum levels of safety, quality, productivity, and efficiencies in the performance of daily shift workload requirements.

This position will start in our Extrusion department, where we create flexible plastic films on cores, involve moving completed rolls off of the line, packaging and labelling products for the customer, and keeping track of quality checks and roll counts.

Shifts Layfield offers:

- 12-hour rotating shift
- Day shift - 7AM to 7PM, Night shift - 7PM to 7AM
- All employees work a day shift and night shift on a two-week rotation

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist Operators with changeovers, set ups and adjustments.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any deficiencies to the Operators.
- Ensure the correct and accurate packaging, identification and count of goods produced.
- Follow safe work Practices and report any unsafe conditions.
- Communicate material requirements during production.
- Responsible for the complete and accurate recording of production data on the lines using tools like Shop Clock, Ritescan and Unipoint.
- Responsible for the proper use and storage of tools and accessories on the lines.




- Complete quality checks of goods produced on the line; record and communicate quality issues to Operators and QC staff.
- Responsible for maintaining a well-organized and clean work area that meets PAC Secure requirements.
- Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

- Ability and willingness to work shift work (day/evening/night) and weekends.
- Ability to lift to 60lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Must be dependable.
- Must be detail oriented.

Education & experience

· Completion of high school is preferred.

· 6 months in the blown film industry.

· 1+ year previous Manufacturing of Production experience is an asset
