About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our construction team in a full-time, long-term position.

The successful candidate will have at least six years of residential construction experience, with some or all of that experience in custom home construction. In-depth knowledge of ICF
foundations is required. Advanced framing skills and experience with energy-productive buildings
are considered assets.

This is a senior role for someone who can work independently, lead junior team members and
take responsibility for keeping work moving safely and efficiently on site.

What You’ll Do

- Complete accurate site takeoffs
- Read and apply building codes

- Complete forming, rebar and concrete finishing work
- Install windows and doors
- Complete roofing, insulation and vapour barrier, drywall,



and interior and exterior

finishing work

- Complete ICF foundation work
- Read and interpret engineered drawings, identify issues and install components

accordingly

- Lead and instruct apprentices to Effect Home Builders’ standards
- Organize work and create clear plans for junior carpenters
- Complete all aspects of construction with little to no supervision
- Take accountability for site safety and participate in Effect’s safety program
- Identify, document and resolve site problems and issues
- Motivate junior carpenters and help keep work on schedule
- Forecast and organize deliveries and returns as required

What We’re Looking For

- Minimum six years of residential construction experience
- Experience working on custom homes
- In-depth knowledge of ICF foundations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of work on site
- Advanced framing experience is an asset
- Experience with energy-efficient construction is an asset
- Ability and interest in advancing into a Site Foreman role
