We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Parts Room Coordinator to manage truck and trailer parts inventory, support maintenance operations, and ensure timely availability of parts to minimize vehicle downtime.
Position Summary
The Parts Room Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the parts department, maintaining accurate inventory records, sourcing and ordering truck and trailer parts, and supporting the maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer components and experience using inventory or maintenance management software such as MIR.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain inventory levels for truck, trailer, and shop parts.
- Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming parts and supplies.
- Issue parts to technicians and maintain accurate records of inventory usage.
- Monitor stock levels and proactively reorder parts to prevent shortages.
- Source parts from vendors and negotiate pricing when required.
- Create and process purchase orders and maintain vendor relationships.
- Utilize MIR software to track inventory, work orders, parts usage, and purchasing activities.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate warranty claims and returns with suppliers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts room environment.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and technicians to support planned and emergency repairs.
- Track and report inventory costs, usage trends,
and stock discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Automotive, or Heavy Equipment Maintenance is considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a parts, inventory, fleet maintenance, or warehouse environment.
- Experience with heavy-duty truck and trailer parts is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience using MIR software or similar maintenance/inventory management systems is an asset.
- Experience working in a transportation, trucking, fleet, or logistics company preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of truck and trailer components, including:
- Brakes and air systems
- Suspension systems
- Tires and wheels
- Electrical systems
- Lighting components
- Engine and drivetrain parts
- Trailer hardware and accessories
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move inventory throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and maintenance shop environment.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
