Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mushroom Farm Worker to join our oyster mushroom production team. This role supports multiple stages of mushroom production in a clean, controlled food-growing environment. Responsibilities include substrate handling, bag preparation, incubation support, harvesting, cleaning, and maintaining strict sanitation and food safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a hands-on agricultural setting. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in specialty food production and commercial mushroom farming within a supportive team environment.

Duties

- Assist with oyster mushroom production, including substrate preparation, bag filling, and incubation support
- Harvest mushrooms carefully to meet quality and food safety standards
- Prepare, weigh, and pack mushrooms for distribution
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in growing, incubation, and processing areas
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols at all times
- Monitor production areas and report any abnormalities (contamination, pests, damaged bags,



etc.)
- Support routine cleaning and disinfection of rooms, tools, and equipment
- Assist with inventory tracking and basic production records as required
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain an organized work workplace

Experience & Requirements

- Previous experience in farming, food production, or agricultural work is an asset but not required
- Willingness to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, bending)
- Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
- Basic math skills for counting, weighing, and simple record-keeping
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Pay: $17.70-$18.00 per hour
