Responsibilities

- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over short and long distances
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols are followed
- Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery manifests, bills of lading, and shipping logs
- Maintain communication with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered on the road




- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep the vehicle in optimal condition
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during every trip

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 (Commercial Driver’s License) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts confidently and safely
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards for heavy loads
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and load management
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as required
