Wax Luxe is Hiring

Wax Luxe is a growing beauty studio in Halifax seeking a professional, reliable and client-focused Licensed Aesthetician / Wax & Brow Technician to join our team.

This position is best suited to someone who has hands-on experience with body hair removal—particularly Brazilian waxing—and eyebrow threading. We are looking for someone who values cleanliness, client comfort, professionalism and continued learning.

Main responsibilities

- Perform body waxing, including Brazilian waxing
- Perform eyebrow threading, shaping and approved brow services
- Complete client consultations and explain appropriate aftercare
- Maintain strong sanitation and infection-control standards
- Prepare and fully reset the treatment room after every client
- Assist with client check-in, checkout, rebooking and basic payment procedures
- Follow Wax Luxe service techniques, dress code and client-care standards
- Support approved Wax Luxe photography and social-media content when required
- Attend training and team meetings as scheduled

Required qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Brazilian and body waxing
- Experience with eyebrow threading
- Valid Nova Scotia cosmetology licence, or eligibility to obtain the appropriate licence before providing services
- Strong communication and client-care skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Comfortable receiving training and following Wax Luxe systems
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

Considered solid assets

- Brow lamination
- Lash lifting and tinting
- Henna brows
- Retail product knowledge and sales




- Laser hair-removal experience or relevant training

Training may be provided for selected services based on the candidate’s experience and the needs of the business.

Compensation

- Commission-based employee position
- Guaranteed at least the applicable Nova Scotia minimum wage for all hours worked
- Employee keeps 100% of their tips
- Additional retail-product commission opportunity
- Compensation and commission structure discussed during the interview
- Performance and compensation review after the probationary period

Schedule

- Part-time to start
- Approximately 2–3 shifts per week, depending on bookings and availability
- Opportunity to increase hours as clientele and business demand grow
- Some evening or weekend availability may be required

Additional information

This position does not currently include private health or dental benefits.

Wax Luxe provides the professional studio environment, approved products and supplies, booking support, service standards and training required for the role.
