Position Summary

The Flat Roofing General Labourer supports the roofing crew in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial flat roofing systems. This role involves assisting skilled roofers with daily job site activities, handling materials and equipment, maintaining a safe and organized work workplace, and performing physical labour in a variety of weather conditions. Key Responsibilities

Assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of commercial flat roofing systems.

Load, unload, move, and organize roofing materials, tools, and equipment.

Prepare roofs and job sites for roofing work.

Remove existing roofing materials and dispose of debris safely.

Operate hand tools and power tools under the direction of experienced crew members.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site.

Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including fall protection requirements.

Assist with setting up and dismantling ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment.

Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects efficiently and to quality standards.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Supervisor.

Qualifications

Previous construction or roofing experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Willingness to learn and follow instructions.





Valid driver's license is considered an asset.

Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.

Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) regularly.

Ability to work at heights and on rooftops.

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.

Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in roofing, construction, or general labour.

Fall Protection certification.

WHMIS certification.

First Aid/CPR certification.

Experience operating construction equipment or material handling equipment is considered an asset.
