On Solid Ground Inc was founded in 2012 to meet the growing demand for professional Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services in the Barrie and Simcoe region. We provide comprehensive and focused ABA interventions for children, youth, and adults with autism, developmental delays, and related learning differences. Our clinical team delivers early intervention, functional communication training, complex behaviour interventions, and individualized programs in both clinic and home settings.

Summary

We are seeking a Behaviour Technician (Supervised) to join our dedicated team for clinic, home and community supports and consultation. In this role, you will play a a critical role in supporting the Complex Needs clinical team in the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based behavioural services. This position focuses on assisting with behaviour support planning, data collection, parent/therapist/caregiver coaching, and implementation of interventions under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA).

Responsibilities

· Implement skill-based programming under the direction and guidance of the Senior Behaviour Therapists/RBA’s, and Clinical Supervisor using the principles of applied behaviour analysis

· Conduct direct observations and collect detailed behavioural data

· Assist the RBA the implementation of Functional Analysis (FA) procedures

· Conduct and support preference assessments

· Provide Behaviour Skills Training (BST) and coaching on data collection procedures and UniPro guidelines

· Participate in the initial implementation of intervention strategies,



using a gradual release model to transition responsibility to caregivers or mediators

· Deliver Performance and Implementation Checks (PICs) to ensure procedural integrity

· Prepare and organize instructional materials, data tools and program/teaching materials

· Support skill acquisition programming, including brief program write-ups and video models

· Input data, generate graphs in Excel, and report observed trends or recommendations for revision to the RBA

· Assist with staff and caregiver coaching and training sessions

· Support the consistent implementation of Safety Plans and UniPro protocols

· Communicate briefly with caregivers re: progress of participant (orally and/or in daily communication log)

· Carry out additional duties as assigned that align with organizational needs and clinical best practice.

Core Competencies and Required Skills:

· Demonstrated experience with a variety of , including:Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Treatment Functional Behaviour Assessment/Analysis, Functional Communication Training (FCT), Universal Protocols, Differential Reinforcement procedures, shaping and chaining, stimulus control and signaling

· Behaviour Supports and Safety: Confident in de-escalation strategies and proactive behaviour interventions

· Data Collection and Trend Identification: Accurate and consistent data collection, graphing, and interpretation

· Mediator supports:



Skilled in communicating and supporting others using the mediator model and BST methodology under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst

· Communication skills and professionalism: communicates in an objective, professional, and clear manner with team members and caregivers

Skills/Qualifications and Continuing Education:

· Community college diploma or a university degree in Behavioural Sciences, or a related field and/or BACB Certification (e.g., Psychology, Autism and Behaviour Science, Child Development/ Education, Behaviour Science Technology, Registered Behaviour Analyst (Supervised Practice)

· Working knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analytic terminology and concepts; 2-5 years experience delivering direct intervention in a clinical one-to-one format

· Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License, and a reliable vehicle to travel to clients in surrounding areas; compensation for travel is provided

· Ability to perform physical duties of the role; ability to engage learners in a variety of developmental ranges (young learners 2-5 years of age, school-age, adolescents and adult learners)

· Demonstrates behaviour that is aligned with the values and mission of OSG

· Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Current certification in First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

· Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

· Applicants must be outgoing, enthusiastic, dependable, and demonstrate strong organizational skills

· Must be willing to engage in Career development opportunities; completing behaviour analytic oriented training sequence for certification/registration is an asset

Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
