What you'll do:
- Provide knowledgeable, professional service and help guests navigate the menu and coffee offerings.
- Prepare coffee and beverage offerings to our standards, including espresso, batch brew, pour over, tea, seasonal coffees and limited releases.
- Dial in espresso throughout the day, monitor extraction and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistency.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring the bar is clean, prepared and ready for service.
- Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of espresso machines, grinders, brewers and other bar equipment.
- Operate the POS, process orders accurately and handle cash and card payments.
- Maintain a clean, organized and well stocked bar and cafe throughout service.
- Monitor condiment station throughout the day, restocking as needed.
- Assist with kitchen and food preparation tasks when required.
- Contribute to a clean, organized and welcoming cafe environment throughout every shift.
What you'll need:
- At least 1-2 years of experience preparing and serving coffee.
- Knowledge of the specialty coffee sector.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and excellent communication skills.
- A true passion for the service industry, with a desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to perform daily bar opening and closing.
- Knowledge of espresso machine operation, grinder calibration, and daily cleaning and maintenance of coffee equipment; ongoing training will be provided.
- Skills in latte-art (heart and rosetta are required)
- Experience with various brewing methods (espresso, pour-over, drip..)
- Ability to thrive when faced with new challenges and keep calm under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
- Be a punctual and reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- FoodSafe level 1 (preferred).
