Senior Chartered Bussiness Valuator (must have CBV)
Lynch & Associates Inc. is a boutique forensic accounting and business valuation firm specializing in litigation support, business valuation, financial investigations, and related advisory services.
We are seeking an experienced Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) to join our firm on a flexible, part-time contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced valuation professional seeking additional project-based work with the flexibility to work remotely and manage their own schedule.
The successful candidate will work directly with the firm's Principal and other accounting professionals on business valuation engagements, primarily involving family law and commercial litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review business valuation analyses and reports.
- Analyze corporate financial statements, tax returns, accounting records, and other financial information.
- Perform valuation calculations using appropriate valuation methodologies.
- Identify and analyze normalization adjustments and other valuation considerations.
- Conduct industry, economic, and financial research relevant to valuation engagements.
- Assist with the preparation and review of valuation reports and supporting schedules.
- Review work prepared by associates and provide technical guidance where appropriate.
- Assist with the review and critique of business valuation reports prepared by other professionals.
- Manage assigned valuation work independently while meeting established deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with the Principal and engagement team on complex valuation matters.
Qualifications
- CBV designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant business valuation experience preferred.
- CPA designation is an asset but not required.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian business valuation principles and methodologies.
- Experience preparing business valuation reports and supporting calculations.
- Litigation-related valuation experience, particularly in family law or commercial disputes, is an asset but not required.
- Strong financial statement analysis and accounting knowledge.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent analytical, written communication, and professional report-writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage assignments with limited supervision.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial and litigation matters.
Work Arrangement
- Independent contractor / consulting position
- Part-time and project-based
- Approximately 5–15 hours per week, depending on engagement requirements and availability

This position may be particularly suitable for an experienced CBV seeking flexible consulting work alongside an existing practice, other professional commitments, or a reduced work schedule.
Job Type: Part-time, Contract
Work Location: Remote
Pay: $50,950.90-$132,099.55 per year
