Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Server to join the front-of-house team at Novita Italian Cuisine. This role is essential in delivering a high standard of guest service while ensuring a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable dining experience.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a full-service restaurant environment, strong knowledge of food and beverage service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Experience with Italian cuisine or upscale casual dining is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

- Welcome guests and provide attentive, professional, and friendly table service.
- Present menus, explain menu items, and answer guest questions regarding food and beverages.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, ingredients, preparation methods, and menu offerings.
- Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
- Make informed recommendations and suggest food and beverage pairings when appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of guest needs throughout the dining experience.
- Ensure food and beverages are delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Monitor tables and provide timely refills, additional items, and assistance as required.
- Handle guest concerns and requests professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly presented tables and service areas.
- Follow restaurant service standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side duties as required.




- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
- Contribute to a collaborative and team-oriented restaurant environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Server in a full-service restaurant environment.

- Minimum 2 years of serving experience preferred.
- Experience in Italian, Mediterranean, upscale casual, or comparable restaurant environments is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine, wines, cocktails, and menu terminology is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to confidently describe menu items and make appropriate recommendations.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tables and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Professional, polished, and personable demeanor.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Smart Serve certification required.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
