Job Overview

As a Director of opeations , you'll oversee dock operations, pickup & delivery (P&D;) routing, linehaul coordination, and terminal staff to ensure freight moves safely, on time, and profitably. You'll be the go-to leader for everything happening at the terminal — from the dock floor to customer escalations to the P&L.;

Responsibilities

- Manage daily dock, P&D;, and warehouse operations to hit service and productivity targets
- Lead, coach, and schedule dock workers, dispatchers, and drivers
- Make sure the terminal follows all federal trucking safety rules, including driver hours-of-service limits and protected handling of hazardous materials.
- Own terminal safety programs — audits, meetings, and incident investigations
- Manage terminal budget, labor costs, and key performance metrics (on-time %, claims ratio, dock productivity)
- Resolve customer service issues, freight claims,



and service escalations
- Maintain terminal facilities, dock equipment, and trailer fleet condition
- Partner with sales and other terminals to keep the network running smoothly

Qualifications

- +5 years of experience working in LTL trucking or terminal operations, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management position
- Solid understanding of federal trucking safety regulations, including hazardous materials handling requirements
- Hands-on experience operating dock and yard equipment, such as forklifts, yard trucks/hostlers, and pallet jacks
- Familiarity with dispatch and transportation management software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, lead teams, and maintain performance in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs
