An established automotive manufacturer is seeking an intermediate Production & Process Development Engineer to join a collaborative, high-performing engineering team.
This hands-on role is 50–60% shop-floor focused, supporting process optimization, equipment implementation, and continuous improvement.

Job Title: Production & Process Development Engineer

Location: Vaughan, ON

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000 – $95,000/year

Responsibilities
Spend 50–60% of the day on the shop floor troubleshooting, optimizing manufacturing processes, and supporting production teams

Develop, evaluate, and improve high-volume manufacturing methods across metal forming, stamping, CNC, and assembly operations

Define equipment specifications, procure tooling, fixtures, and gauging, and oversee plant layout plans for new equipment integration

Maintain APQP documentation, including PFMEA, SPC, Work Instructions, and 8D corrective actions in alignment with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards

Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting OEE, scrap reduction, cycle times, and 5S standards

Collaborate with tool room staff, external vendors, and program management to support RFQs and process enhancements

Qualifications
Education: University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline

Experience: 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry (strong applicants with 4 years are encouraged to apply)

Technical Expertise:



Direct experience with metal forming, stamping, CNC equipment, and robotic controls/assembly

Core Tools: Working knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, GD&T;, Root Cause Analysis (8D), SPC, and blueprint reading

Software: Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks or DraftSight)

Mindset: Highly hands-on, resourceful, and capable of working effectively in a dynamic plant environment
