Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential personal care and support to residents in long-term care and related healthcare settings. Your responsibilities will focus on assisting with daily living activities, promoting comfort and dignity, and supporting residents’ overall well-being. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering respectful, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

- Assist residents with personal care needs including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
- Provide assistance with meals, feeding, and hydration.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Support residents with dementia, chronic conditions, and palliative needs.
- Document care activities accurately as required.




- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Experience & Qualifications

- Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate recognized in Ontario.
- Experience in long-term care, retirement homes, or home care settings preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care, palliative care, and senior health needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to resident-centered care.
