Roles 7 Responsibility

The Physiotherapist is member of an Order in their discipline (field of practice) and have the knowledge and skill to addresses the motricity and posture of the child that impact the child’s functioning. The Physiotherapist would be also responsible for consulting with schools and coach other staff in applying physical education programs.

The immediate supervisor is the Coordinator of the Clinical Services.

- Organizational

Together with the clinical team, the therapist:

· Respects the mission, values and beliefs of the Center

· Adopts behaviours that are coherent with the values of the Center

· Works towards the attainment of the objectives and priorities of the Center as a team member

- Clinical

· Completes formal and informal assessments and identifying treatment goals Identifies the child’s needs

· Responsible for the intervention plan, sets long and short-term goals, outcomes, rationale and evaluation methods

· Completes patient revaluations, progress notes and discharges and any significant changes in condition in accordance with Physiotherapist policies

· Provide recommendations to school team for the class consulted and in collaboration with the other professionals seeing clients from the class. Will communicate with the professional concern prior to give recommendation or will refer the question from school team to the other professional seeing the client.

· Completes report requested for school, disability allowance, grants, etc.

· Communicate therapy information with parents as per protocol

· Attends team/staff meetings and professional development days and contributes own insights and ideas





· Collaborates to the peer supervision with the other qualified such as Occupational therapist and Psychomotor to share support

· Assumes clean – up/ hygiene responsibilities as per protocol

· Meets Order based obligations and requirements in the area of practices, reporting and ethics

· Therapists implement interventions using the following service delivery approaches: interdisciplinary, relationship based, ability based, reflective practices, and family focused

· Therapist assists children and their families to build skills that enable them to participate in meaningful activities of daily life

· Plans and implements activities that work toward the client’s intervention plan goals

· Implements plan directly or through training and supervising clinical staff and parents

· The therapist is thoroughly familiar with the child’s diagnosis, medical condition and needs

· Works in collaboration with the educators and maintains a circle of communication amongst all parties involved with the child

· Transfers the knowledge to the clinical team working with the child including family

· Actively participates in child related discussion with clinical team and families

- Administrative and human resources





· Familiarises his/herself and respects administrative and human resources policies and procedures including: roles and responsibilities. Attendance, punctuality

· Respects dress code and demonstrates professionalism with colleagues and families

· Completes the necessary forms as per established Yaldei procedures

· Respects hygiene procedures

- Communication and confidentiality

· Respects all matters of confidentiality in regards to clients, their families, staff members, and center programs and follows protocol in these matters

· Communicates with families in a qualified, consistent, organised and informed fashion about the child’s program

· Directs questions, insights, concerns and recommendations through the appropriate channels within the clinical team

· Ensures accuracy of the client information on their Yaldei Common documents

· Completes file according to Yaldei protocol: initial assessment or screening, progress report, exit report, etc.

- Self- Development

· Develops knowledge of theory and practice regarding typical and atypical child and family development and regularly share this growing knowledge with team members

· As professionals, therapists possess and maintain a high level of competence by incorporating into their practice the latest health evidence

· Dedicated to staying abreast of the latest developments in their field of practice, they continually seek to hone their skills

Pay: $29.76-$42.47 per hour
