Accountant, Financial Reporting & Analysis

The Opportunity

PBA Group is seeking an Accountant, Financial Reporting & Analysis to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business analysis across a diverse portfolio of operating and investment entities.

Working closely with the Corporate Controller, you will prepare financial statements and supporting working papers, develop financial models and provide analysis that supports management, investors, lenders and other stakeholders.

This opportunity is well suited to an accountant who enjoys combining strong technical accounting with financial analysis and wants exposure to multiple businesses, investments and strategic projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and Accounting

· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple entities.

· Complete journal entries, account reconciliations, working papers and supporting schedules.

· Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Assist with annual audits and review engagements.

· Monitor financial results and investigate significant variances.

· Help ensure reporting is accurate, timely and consistent with accounting policies.

Financial Planning and Analysis

· Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and financial planning.

· Develop and maintain financial models for acquisitions, developments, financing initiatives and strategic projects.

· Analyze financial and operational results and communicate key findings to management.

· Support business cases, investment analysis and decision-making.

Management, Investor and Lender Reporting

· Prepare management reports, dashboards and performance analysis.

· Assist with quarterly and annual investor reporting packages.

· Compile financial and operating metrics for internal and external stakeholders.





· Support lender reporting and financing requirements.

Process Improvement

· Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiency.

· Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools.

· Complete special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.

· CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program is preferred.

· Three to five years of progressive accounting or financial-analysis experience.

· Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations and supporting working papers.

· Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

· Experience using ERP or accounting systems.

· Experience in real estate, hospitality, construction or investment environments is an asset.
