Rush Contractors Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects from award through completion. The successful candidate will oversee all phases of project delivery to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.

An effective Project Manager will possess a strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, industry best practices, and project management principles. The role requires the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide clear direction, and drive project performance. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and a confident communicator committed to delivering projects that meet or exceed quality, safety, and financial targets.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

- Plan, manage, and deliver civil construction projects including earthworks, roads, utilities, drainage, concrete, and structural works
- Oversee project startup, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
- Prepare, compile, and track submittals, RFIs, and claims

Budget, Scheduling & Cost Tracking

- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and schedules
- Track costs, manage change orders, and control project expenditures
- Negotiate purchasing with external vendors and subcontractors
- Review and approve invoices, progress claims, and subcontractor payments

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and correspondence
- Ensure drawings, specifications, and records are current and properly distributed




- Assist Project Manager with submittals and reports as required

Contract & Stakeholder Management

- Manage client relationships and act as the primary project liaison
- Administer contracts, including RFIs, changes, claims, and schedule
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, inspectors, clients, and stakeholders

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and coordinate site supervisors, coordinators, and project staff
- Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Support operations with resource planning for labour and equipment, staging, and logistics
- Promote a collaborative work environment with a focus on safety, quality, and long-term partnerships

Health, Safety, Quality & Workplace (HSQE)

- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Promote a proactive safety culture on-site
- Implement quality assurance and quality control processes
- Ensure environmental and sustainability requirements are met

Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare and present weekly and monthly project reports
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

Qualifications

- Post Secondary Education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Bachelors or Diploma Preferred)
- At least 5 years experience managing civil construction projects
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with health and safety, environmental,



and quality standards
- Proficient with MS Office suite and MS Project
- Experience in estimating, in particular with Hard Dollar or other estimating software is a bonus
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Commercial and financial acumen is an asset
- A team player with leadership abilities

Work Conditions

- The position involves a combination of office-based work and on-site project oversight, depending on project requirements.
- Project assignments will be reviewed on an ongoing basis to align personnel strengths with current operational needs.
- Regular travel to project sites is required to support field operations and project delivery.
- Project schedules and operational demands may necessitate extended work hours.
