Overview

The CNC Programmer/Process Engineer works closely with the engineering and CNC department to evaluate product technical data packages, process planning and procedures, and tool design to produce programming for machine tools and equipment. They will also assist with CNC machine set up and troubleshooting as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Technical feedback to internal departments and Customers regarding our highly specialized multi-cutting CNC machinery, programs, and associated applications;
- Creating and maintaining CNC programs
- Create processes for all machined parts
- Supporting and consulting with software developers, engineers and technicians regarding the operation of machinery, equipment & CNC software.
- Determining and compiling machining frames for quoting new projects
- Entering all information into SAP to connect with routing drawings, and specifications
- Consulting with engineers and technicians regarding project specifications
- Troubleshooting failures to equipment and other shop applications
- Recommending and scheduling program upgrades and related equipment components which may improve production capacity and efficiency
- Participation in improvement activities related to the machine and/or machining process

Skills and Experience

- Must have College diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in programming, setting up and operating 3, 4 or 5-axis CNC Mills in a Precision environment
- Proficient with CAD/CAM software and Siemens Sinumerik 840D Controls
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Must have excellent mathematical skills




- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Thorough hands-on knowledge of metal cutting including feeds and speeds, metallurgy, tooling and cutters, fixturing, geometric tolerancing, and statistical process control
- Blueprint reading capabilities; including knowledge of GD & T principles, understanding of CMM reports, and experience using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments (i.e. verniers, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
- Must be adaptable to a changing work setting, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
- Good understanding and experience with work offsets at the machine control

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
