Machinist

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure machined components meet required specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong machining experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
- Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
- Operate CNC and various conventional machining equipment.
- Machine components according to drawings, specifications, and required tolerances.
- Measure and verify machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect dimensions and ensure products conform to specifications.
- Identify and address dimensional or machining issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant machining experience.
- Machinist Trade Certification.
- Machinist Red Seal endorsement preferred/required.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience working with both conventional and CNC machinery.
- Strong knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniques.
Measuring Tools Experience
Experience using:
- Micrometers
- Verniers
- Calipers / Callipers
- Gauges
- Calibres
Machinery Experience
Experience operating or setting up:
- CNC machines
- Automatic lathes
- Engine lathes
- Milling machines
- Sawing machines
- Surface grinders
Additional Requirements
- Own reliable transportation.
- Own basic tools required for the trade.
- Steel-toed safety boots.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 30 lbs (13.5 kg).
