Salary Information: 13 - BCGEU Pay Grid - $33.88 to $37.81 per hour Employment Type: Permanent Part Time Travel Frequency: Regular travel between campuses is required.

Employee Group: Support Staff (BC General Employees Union) We are currently seeking an Academic Advisor to join our Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation team.

Academic

Advisors in the Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation engage in collaborative practice to enhance the development, progression and retention of KPU students. Through guidance and the use of leading and innovative practices, Academic Advisors empower students to ensure student success.

Education And Experience Successful completion of an undergraduate degree. Demonstrated knowledge of career opportunities for post-secondary graduates.



Demonstrated passion for working with students and helping them succeed.

Demonstrated excellent communication in English both verbally and written with a diverse group of people. Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines. Demonstrated experience in planning and presenting training activities, events and workshops.

Demonstrated intermediate level of competency using the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Access or a similar data base and PowerPoint. Demonstrated competency navigating in Banner or a similar complex records database. As per the KPU-BCGEU Collective Agreement, qualified internal applicants within the BCGEU bargaining unit are given first consideration in filling this position.
