About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and empathetic Addiction Support Group Facilitator to lead peer support groups in Kimberley . This role is critical in providing a safe and structured environment for individuals in recovery from substance abuse to share their experiences, gain support, and develop coping strategies. You will guide discussions, foster a sense of community, and help members navigate the challenges of maintaining sobriety. This is a part-time position making a significant impact on individuals seeking recovery in the Northern Cape .
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate structured support group meetings for individuals recovering from addiction.
- Create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for all participants.
- Guide discussions, encourage participation, and ensure adherence to group guidelines.
- Provide education on recovery principles, relapse prevention, and healthy coping mechanisms.
- Monitor group dynamics and address any conflicts or issues that arise.
- Maintain client confidentiality and ensure professional conduct at all times.
Requirements
- Personal experience with addiction recovery or significant experience working with individuals in recovery.
- Knowledge of addiction, recovery processes, and support group methodologies.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage group dynamics and maintain a safe therapeutic space.
- Reliability and strong ethical conduct are essential.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in the Kimberley area.
