The Group Retirement Savings (GRS) Fund Operations and Accounting Department is responsible for operationalizing and supporting the development of the mutual fund platform for clients and plan members. The department transfers cash to internal and external fund managers so that the funds can be invested in accordance with the instructions provided. The department also coordinates the changes needed to establish and close funds to ensure the fund platform is able to run smoothly.

As a GRS Fund Operations and Accounting Analyst, you contribute to the management of financial accounts in accordance with the organization’s objectives by producing reports, monitoring controls and analyzing financial risks, profits and losses. Drawing on your expertise in how segregated funds operate, you will contribute to the coordination of transferring cash and collecting fees, and support periodic bank reconciliation activities.

You’ll leverage your holistic view of accounting by working closely with colleagues who are responsible for broker commissions and billing activities. You serve as the Department’s go-to expert and act as the team’s representative for projects that have an impact on its activities, such as rolling out new funds, developing current products and system updates. You are also in charge of resolving issues that necessitate complex analysis and interactions with different parties and active players.

For this reason, strong interpersonal skills are a key requirement of this role.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate cash transfers in a rigorous fashion
- Ensure periodic monitoring of the business line’s financial accounts




- Log accounting entries for financial transactions carried out
- Issue reports to consolidate the business line’s financial position
- Analyze financial information and flag irregularities
- Propose and implement solutions and controls to make processes more robust
- Handle the implementation of profitability and operational efficiency initiatives
- Participate in large-scale business line projects that impact accounting activities
- Collaborate on broker commissioning and billing activities

What you bring to the table

- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience

Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

Experience with insurance product or investment fund administration systems (Unitrax, Compass, etc.)

Knowledge of French is required





Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

Advanced mastery of Microsoft365

Knowledge of group retirement savings products and segregated funds

Available to work from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
