About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and intellectually curious AI Ethics Researcher to join their forward-thinking team in Kimberley. This role is central to advancing the understanding and implementation of responsible AI practices. You will conduct in-depth research into the ethical implications of artificial intelligence, focusing on areas such as fairness, accountability, transparency, bias mitigation, and societal impact. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct rigorous research on ethical challenges and considerations in AI and machine learning.
- Analyze the potential societal impacts of AI technologies, including issues of bias, fairness, and equity.
- Develop frameworks and methodologies for evaluating the ethical performance of AI systems.
- Contribute to the creation of ethical guidelines, best practices, and policy recommendations for AI development and deployment.
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers,



and ethicists to translate ethical principles into practical applications.
- Publish research findings in academic journals, present at conferences, and contribute to public discourse on AI ethics.

Requirements

- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Philosophy, Ethics, Sociology, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong focus on AI ethics.
- Proven research experience in AI ethics, technology ethics, or related areas.
- Deep understanding of core AI/ML concepts and their ethical dimensions.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and research methodologies skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ethical arguments.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams is a plus.
