The AI Platform Specialist supports digital and AI-enabled initiatives within the organization's technology function.
Working with plant operations, development, and data teams, the role assists in gathering business requirements, coordinating project activities, and monitoring progress against established priorities, timelines, and quality expectations. This entry-level,
cross-functional role provides an opportunity to develop skills in stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and detail-oriented contributor who is comfortable working with plant teams, technical specialists, vendors, and business stakeholders, with guidance from more experienced team members.
Assist with the implementation of digital and AI initiatives by supporting project scoping, prioritization, scheduling, and progress tracking. Coordinate project meetings, sprint reviews, and cross-departmental discussions; prepare materials, document decisions, and follow up on assigned actions. Maintain project documentation, milestone trackers, risk and issue logs, and escalation records in accordance with established governance processes.
Work with plant and operational teams to gather information and help translate business needs into clearly documented problem statements, requirements, and project plans. Assist with budget tracking, resource planning, and preparation of clear project status updates for management review. Research developments in AI and emerging technologies, including large language models, machine vision, and data platforms, and summarize relevant findings for the team.
Assist with the comparison of technology options, such as Databricks, Microsoft Azure AI,
Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI GPT, using established evaluation criteria and guidance from technical leads. Work with the development leads to document research findings and support recommendations related to platform practices, policies, and development standards. Up to 2 years of relevant experience in project coordination, business analysis, information technology, digital transformation, or a related field.
Relevant co-op, internship, or academic project experience will be considered. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical business partners. Ability to gather information, ask thoughtful questions, and help document business or operational needs for technology initiatives.
Basic knowledge of Agile, hybrid, or traditional project delivery methods is an asset. Co‑op, internship, academic, or work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry workplace is an asset. Academic, project, or practical exposure to AI/ML technologies, data platforms, or machine vision systems is an asset.
Awareness of IT/OT integration or manufacturing control systems is an asset. Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
