Position Description
As a Social Assistant, you will perform psychosocial tasks and develop, organize, and lead activities focused on promotion and prevention with young families. You will work under the supervision of the Coordinator SIPPE (FASD) based in Kuujjuaq, collaborating with the Family House and CLSC staff in your community. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct home visits (safety kits, etc.)
- Implement early stimulation activities (home, daycare, etc.)
- Organize baby showers (FASD prevention)
- Create radio capsules
- Participate in other activities included in the SIPPE-FASD program
Specific Requirements
- Hold a secondary V diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in Inuktitut and English (spoken and written)
- Experience with infants, youth, and families is an asset
- Experience in organizing health, social, recreational, or community activities
- Knowledge of FASD is an asset
- Perceived as a positive role model by the community
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, responsibility, and organization skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of Inuit traditions, beliefs, and customs
- Proficiency in Word and Outlook
- Willingness to travel within the Ungava coast communities
