Our Toronto office is seeking a candidate with the desire to use and grow their technical expertise to successfully deliver projects across a variety of markets and building types, with potential to support architecture work across Water, Resource, Federal, and Building Engineering market sectors. In this role, you will partner with project managers to lead the planning, design, documentation, and construction administration of multiple building types, from high‑performance data centers and water treatment facilities to advanced manufacturing plants, office spaces, and operations centers. Be knowledgeable in technical design concepts, code applications, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflows for industrial‑type facilities.

Lead project teams with wide-ranging levels of experience to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables. Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project. Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.

Perform QA/QC and cross‑discipline technical reviews. Write and edit architectural specifications. Incorporate agreed‑upon changes into project documents. Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.





Conduct work sessions at project site in conjunction with Client Representatives, Project Managers and other disciplines. Master’s degree in Architecture Minimum 5 years’ relevant prior experience in the areas of industrial architecture, such as data centers, water treatment facilities, public utility facilities, operations centers, aerospace, manufacturing, etc.

Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders, such as engineers, client, contractors, subcontractors, AHJs, etc. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or closely related field Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
