Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Parks and Facilities, the Arena Attendant is responsible for performing custodial functions; responding appropriately and in a timely manner to queries and problems; ensuring facility cleanliness and safety for all users; and providing exceptional customer service.
Primary Duties:
- Complete general cleaning of the facilities
- Moving nets on the ice surface while wearing the required safety equipment
- Removing snow by shovel on the ice surface and entrances of facility
- Assist with room set-up and take down for bookings
- May be required to complete skate patrol at public skating
- Provide exceptional customer service to members of the public
- Adhere to municipal policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
Education Requirements and Skills:
- Ability to work in a team workplace
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Demonstrates initiative
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures
- Ability to skate would be considered an asset
Other:
- Part-time position – Approx. up to 20 hours per week
- Required to work evenings and weekends based on operational needs
