Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Asset Integrity Engineer to join our St. John’s, Newfoundland team. The suitable candidate will be responsible for directly interfacing with our client. They will support integrity activities for a range of assets including but not limited to piping / pressure systems, structural supports, large storage tanks, marine structures, civil infrastructure, and electrical systems.

The successful candidate will be involved in providing consulting and engineering solutions to our client, delivering improved outcomes while balancing integrity, along with performance and costs. In addition, they will be serving as a technical expert in defining and building a suitable Integrity Management Program and leading ongoing integrity assignments directly with the client. The candidate will report to the St. John’s office and collaborate globally with Woods technical expert network.

Requirements

- Support the development and maintaining of Integrity Management Programs for new and existing facilities. This includes performing risk and criticality assessments, definition of corrosion circuits, inspection, and monitoring activities
- Demonstrable understanding of full asset lifecycle operations
- Support the assessment of the results of survey, inspection, testing and monitoring activities
- Experience interfacing directly with operational sites to support a range of operational integrity issues
- Participate in studies regarding Risk Based Inspection assessment of pressurized equipment
- Experience in leading and delivering technical assessments from a range of disciplines including piping, structural, civil, materials and mechanical
- Develop corrosion management programs including the definition of internal and external corrosion control measures
- Liaise with specialized engineering disciplines for resolution of integrity related concerns




- Good working knowledge of Marine Facilities
- Can provide technical input to corrosion / material related issues
- Perform corrosion modelling and predict remaining life of pipelines, pipework, and vessels
- Can provide technical input to structural issues
- Experience with inspection and monitoring techniques
- Travel when required to client location to coordinate data collection and data QA / QC, perform assessments, interact with NDE Technicians and Inspectors
- Can work independently or lead a small team
- Must have working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards and national, regional, and local Legislation for Canada
- Project Management experience
- Correctly adhere to the Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-10 years of experience working in the energy industry; ideally in Integrity-related area
- Relevant degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Materials and / or Engineering discipline preferred
- Conversant with relevant international standards and Codes of Practice
- Have experience in corrosion analysis, material specifications and selection, testing, manufacture, fracture mechanics and welding procedures
