We are looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious individual with strong leadership skills to join our Montreal plant as an Automation and Controls Technician, reporting to the Maintenance Area Supervisor.
Permanent full-time position Salary: $41/hour Pension plan with employer contributions Reimbursement for gym memberships and physical activities On-site gym On-the-job training provided Schedule Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, rotating between: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Support the electrical maintenance team and plant operations in resolving issues that impact production line efficiency. perform installation, replacement, and commissioning activities. Access PLC programs and make modifications as required. Participate in the maintenance of the plant’s electrical and control equipment.
Inspect, verify, clean, and repair equipment. Inspect, verify, and calibrate instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.). Analyze production downtime and propose improvement solutions for electrical and control equipment.
Use the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
to record work performed, labor time, and parts used. Participate in the maintenance of low-voltage electrical distribution equipment. College diploma in Industrial Electronics or Electromechanics, with a strong interest in PLCs. ~ 3–5 years of experience in instrumentation, automation, process control, and troubleshooting. ~ Knowledge of Rockwell automation equipment (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, SLC500). ~ Knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution equipment (600V), including switchgear, MCCs, and distribution panels. ~ Experience with ABB and Rockwell VFDs is considered an asset. ~ Experience with industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, IO-Link, HART) is an asset. ~ Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). ~ Functional English. ~ Give meaning to your career and help us make a difference: become a transformation champion!
