Responsible to ensure customer service is provided through maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to all Company policies, procedures and standards. Provide direction and supervision to Bakery Utility Clerks in the absence of the Bakery Supervisor.

Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, request and complaints. Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns. Performs duties following established Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.

Ensures the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and tools. Responsible for all aspects of receiving including reviewing/verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims and proper storage of products. Responsible for organizing and conducting inventory.

Provides direction/supervision in the Bakery in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager in the following areas: Verbal input for employee performance and conduct. Technical training (e.g. department orientation, commodity specific functions, etc) with day‑to‑day instruction and verbal feedback. Application of effective customer service techniques.

Replacing shifts and authorizing appropriate documents.
